EZ folks, I’m excited to present to you my latest mixtape, "Urban Pressure Flashback Session". The mix commemorates one of Ottawa’s most beloved jungle/drum & bass club nights, Urban Pressure. Urban Pressure took place between 2000 and 2001, on Wednesday nights in the lounge at Atomic Nightclub (the same space that Ritual Nightclub occupies). Residents on the night were none other than the Sophisticated Rude Boy crew: Rayaz, Threesixty, David Florida, Jeff Hill, Roksteady, and myself, Karl Haze. We also had the pleasure of hosting tonnes of local and International talent, such as DJ Flight, Marcus Visionary, Mystical Influence, and more.
It’s been 10 years on now, and digging through the vinyl and revisiting these cuts brought me right back to those runnin’ Wednesday sessions. If you were around back then, I hope it does the same for you. If Urban Pressure was before your time, then take a listen and see how we used to get down. Hup hup!
